So my dad left again...(what's wrong with him)?

Okay. This is the first letter that has brought me to tears. I am so very sorry my heart just breaks for you. Your Dad is a very sick man. He should be in a mental institution. It sounds to me like he is schizophrenic. He definitely needs to be on medication. If he is not doing some heavy duty drugs than I am sure of it. He has all the symptoms, the anger, violent, and the paranoia. Thinking people are talking about him and hearing voices is a definite sign of schizophrenia. If he has never been treated for this than he needs to be committed not only for his safety but for yours and your moms. But the only way this can happen is he has to admit he needs help and commit himself ( they don't usually think they need help ) or your mom needs to do this next time he causes trouble and the cops are called. I'm sure he has plenty on his records that will help get him put away for a while. Then you and your mom need to get far away from him or at least get a restraining order. I don't blame you at all for the way you feel. Your mother needs to get tuff and not ever let him back in! If she does not put a stop to it now one of you are going to end up seriously hurt, if not worse.Tell her to get a restraining order. That way if he does come around anyway they will take him straight to jail and he won't be getting out soon. You should not have to live like that. and your mom should want what is best for you. Sorry for all your heart ache and pain. I am going to pray and pray hard and daily for you and your situation. I really wish I knew your name.
