What does this mean, can you rephrase it?

I seem to be getting frozen out by a male friend of mine, so I ask this woman, what might be wrong....could I be at fault etc. She said that she felt he feels that I want a committment in a relationship from him and that I should give him a taste of his own medicine. I said back to her, but we aren't in a relationship, so what is his problem? She said his was problem was that he was thinking in terms of relationship. What does this all mean? Can someone simplify it for me?
