Can this be a false check?

I received a check for 3,050.00 usd and it's from KGS Financial Inc/Better and Better Technologies Inc. they claim that I won this money from a Lottery Draw in the United Kingdom. It's an actual check but I questioned it because I've never entered a raffle or lottery in the united kingdom. Has anyone received anything similar to this?
