Will my mum be covered by orange insurance?

hi there yesterday my niece (mum's granddaughter) had picked up my mum's phone without mum noticing and had run outside anyway like 4 minutes later she come in saying "nanny i hided your phone" so my mum got up n asked where and by niece said "in the bin" and just as my mum had looked n went to go out noticed the bin men had just emptied out bins and so now its pretty much destroyed so will the phone insurance cover this?
