Does anyone have a "home remedy" for killing Wisteria?

A Wisteria that we planted over 30 years ago, grew so big that it killed the Oak tree that it wrapped itself around. At the time, I had NO IDEA that it would grow so big! We cut the tree and the Wisteria down, but now it's growing from the roots.....all over the yard!! I've put salt on the "eruptions", but it's still putting out runners. Can anyone help before our whole yard is covered in Wisteria? Thanks for all suggestions.....
