If alligators became extinct ?...?

Alligator they do say, they dig whole, it keeps the water stored when droughts come. They rip fish up for other fish to eat. Yet I feel that not really anything tremendous, if they were to come instinct. I do NOT think it would effect the environment. They only eat food twice a year so fish would not really populate.
