Workout Muscle pain!?

Your are finding out why you should start out slowly and work up to a full exercise routine over a period of weeks. When you work a muscle to the point of it being painful a day or two after, it needs some rest. A hot bath and self mage will relieve some of the pain. If need be use a NSAID such as tylenol or ibuprofen. When you exercise and your muscles become very sore in the following days, what you have done is to break down some of the muscle tissue. It is in the process of repair. To a much lesser extent, it is similar to a pulled (torn) muscle. When you continue your exercise program and use progressively heavier weights your muscles will repair themselves and begin to accommodate the heavier weight by growing in size. Just take it easy for a few days. Then continue your exercise program , maybe a little less enthusiastically for a week or two? Good luck.
